Who We Are

  • Abner Ramos

Co-Pastor

Abner was born in Honduras, but raised in south Montebello. He came to faith when he was
19 during his undergrad years at UCLA. Since then he has been committed to starting new ministries to help churched and unchurched people fall in love with God. Abner’s passion is to develop Christian leaders who will be fully equipped to serve wherever Jesus calls them. He speaks truth like no other. And when he’s not teaching or preaching, he spends time with his family in the backyard.

  • Molly Ramos

Co-Pastor

Molly loves Jesus deeply and loves to help others go deeper in his presence, coming alongside them in prayer until they see supernatural breakthrough. Molly has been in ministry 20 years and is passionate about discipling, raising up leaders, and longs to see people come to know Jesus. Molly has been married to Abner for 16 years. They have two kids and an old beagle named Chief. She loves to have fun, be in nature, and watch Seattle Seahawks football!

  • Jesse Chang

Co-Pastor

Jesse came from the East Coast to Los Angeles via Fuller Seminary. After pastoring in a local church in Monterey Park, he now leads a local non-profit that “seeks the welfare of the city” (Jeremiah 29:7) by connecting the love and resources of local congregations with the needs of youth and families in our schools and local communities in the West San Gabriel Valley. He loves spending time in nature/Creation, gardening, creating new things, and watching the eye rolls of his wife Tammy and two kids when he makes “dad jokes”.

  • Tammy Chang

Children’s Pastor

Tammy is the middle-born child of a missionary couple from Japan. Although she was born in the mid-West, she has called Japan, the Philippines and Pennsylvania all home. She has lived in Monterey Park for the last 19 years with her husband Jesse, two children, and recent addition of May the hamster. Tammy works as a clinical social worker by day, but her favorite jobs by far are that of being a mom and a children’s minister. She has loved children even before God blessed her with them and loves seeing them grow in their love and knowledge of Jesus.

  • Shawn Aguirre

Youth Pastor

Shawn is the Youth Pastor at River of Life, where he loves walking with students as they discover who they are, what they believe, and how their story fits into God’s bigger one. A Biola University grad with a B.A. in Christian Ministry, he brings a relational, down‑to‑earth approach to teaching and discipleship. Shawn is passionate about creating spaces where students feel safe, known, and excited to explore Scripture with honesty and curiosity. Besides ministry with students, Shawn is a fan of superheroes, comic books, manga, and the Marvel universe, and he loves anything that sparks imagination—from building stories to board games to theater. Anything that involves wonder, collaboration, or a great narrative, he’s in.
